EUROPEAN GEO-TEXTILE (EGT) FIBER - EGT fiber is an additive which can improve nearly all arenas. It is used when the sand has too much movement. Fiber will help to stabilize a sand footing, and will create better traction and cushion.  Fiber will help hold moisture in the footing by locking the moisture into the sand. Fiber will work best with a certain type and specification of sand. Larger, rounder sand particles will not work as well with fiber as a finer, smaller size sand. Footing Depot can help if you need to purchase sand. Fiber will nearly always improve your sand arena.

• HOW IT WORKS: Fiber holds moisture and stabilizes footing when paired with fine-grained sand.

• COST PER POUND: EGT fiber $1.25 per pound

• SAMPLE ARENA: 80ft X 160ft (12,800 square feet)

• FIBER NEEDED: To calculate, divide your square footage by 4 (12,800/4) = 3,200 lbs . This would be the MINIMUM recommended amount required to make an impact on the surface.

FiberTec- Western Blend

Our FiberTec Western Blend is designed to make the footing “livelier.” It adds traction, cushioning and bounce while still allowing the horse’s feet to go through the footing.

REBOUND WHITE RUBBER   This rubber is used in much smaller pieces and works well in sand footing. The color is appealing as it blends well with the sand, and it is not as noticeable.  This white rubber helps with cushion and life and when mixed with fiber can create a super footing blend to add to arenas.  If your arena sand is broken down and is packing quickly then adding sand with rubber will often be a good solution. It will help resolve a packing issue, providing better life and cushion.

REBOUND BLACK RUBBER   Footing Depot can supply excellent clean resource of black rubber. This rubber has a great feel and is much softer than what you may have seen, as it is not recycled tires. This product is a virgin rubber used for mats. This keeps the rubber clean and 100% metal free.

• HOW IT WORKS: Rubber reduces compaction and creates voids in footing which creates cushion. Rubber is a super additive for an old arena that is very firm and needs some more life. Rubber can be blended with fiber to create a good mixture for an old arena in need of some attention.
